My Epic To Do List – #25before25

When I turned 24 last month, I started thinking about what had changed in my life in the last year and what I had accomplished in my life so far. I feel like I have done a lot but haven’t ticked some major things off that some of my peers have. So I wrote myself a list of things that I want to achieve in the next year, before 12th July 2012, so that I can have something to refer to and work towards. Some may not be achievable but that may be due to a change of priorities or circumstances, and that’s okay. I’m putting it out there though, to tell the Universe of my intentions!

Before I turn 25, I would like to…

  1. Pay off my credit cards – I have some credit card debt, which is larger than I’d like. No brainer.
  2. Finish a degree – I have two partially completed degrees and an almost finished Master Trainer certificate. At least one of those, if not two, would be nice.
  3. Leave the country – I’ve never been overseas, I feel like this is a major thing I’ve missed out on. Even to Bail or New Zealand would be fine.
  4. Book my US trip – I am desperate to go the US, specifically California, because I just feel like I would fit in there. It’s sunny.
  5. Get to Advanced level 3 Pole and/or Advanced level 3 spinning pole – I’ve been taking classes for 3 years, I should be there already.
  6. Pass Intermediate 3 Aerial Hoop – I love Aerial Hoop and would love to have progressed to this level.
  7. Get my drivers licence – I am 24 and without my drivers licence, even though I’ve attempted it once and had my learners since 16. Ridiculous.
  8. Learn to skateboard – I taught myself to ollie over Summer when I was 15 and never picked up a skateboard again after that.

    This isn't me but there are NO good photos of girls skateboarding... what is that!?

  9. Improve my language skills – I started learning French, Japanese, German and Mandarin at various times. French or Japanese would be nice.
  10. Get my braces removed – A year overdue. Unfortunately this takes cash and time and I have little of either.
  11. Have my jaw surgery – Long story, not for now. Related to the above point and I am also a bit scared.
  12. Go to Ezard/Vue du Monde/Jacques Reymond… I just want to experience a Vegan Fine Dining degustation. Once.
  13. Have another dinner at Amusé – This is my & my brother’s favourite restaurant  in Perth. I adore it!
  14. Cook everything in Veganomicon – I know, the book is huge. But it will expand my Vegan cooking repertoire by heaps.
  15. Submit my SG photo set. I got accepted to SG a while ago but never submitted due to #10 & not having my tattoo finished.
  16. Be able to run 10km. I’m planning on proving this to myself by doing a Fun Run, I had to bail on RunMelbourne again this year to due illness.
  17. Relaunch healthypartygirl.com. I feel like it’s time for an overhaul and I’d like to include some more pages
  18. Get a paid writing job. I love writing and I’ve done it for free for ages and it’s time to start making some money.
  19. Go to Pole Camp. Kind of cheating because it’s already booked but 3 days of Pole dancing workshops on the Gold Coast is a bit exciting.
  20. Return to my “fighting weight”. This is just my way of saying getting back into my peak form, fitness & body shape wise. I don’t have scales.
  21. Get the 180B back on the road. My beloved car is out of action for now, due to vandalism, so I can’t practice in her. Time to fix that!

  22. Be able to do the splits. I’m nowhere near as flexible as I should be, this will really help my dancing.
  23. Do a pole photo shoot with Adam Jay. He’s the best pole dancing photographer in the world, I think. I want to have something to show what I can do.
  24. Quit social smoking. I quit smoking regularly but sometimes when I’m with certain people or out drinking, the temptation gets too much. No more.
  25. Turn a profit with my Arbonne business. Okay this was going to be a secret, but I guess the cat is out of the bag now…

Other things that could have gone on the list – learn guitar, get some real bass lessons, get another tattoo, find a life partner, get a full-time job again, get a volunteer position for a vegan/animal charity, drive across the Nullaboar etc.

That’s my 25 before 25!! They are my goals for the next year and I would like you guys to help hold me accountable. I’ll post my progress and it’ll be fun being able to mark things off as I go along. Of course I have other goals and things I’d like to do but I thought this was a pretty good representation. What’s on your bucket list? Do you have any New Year’s/Birthday resolutions?

    Great stuff HPG! I’ve got a mammoth to do list before I turn 30 (mid May next year) – one of which is to complete a marathon (have been doing a 19 week training plan in the lead up to the Melbourne Marathon on the 9th of October) and to be published in a peer reviewed journal. Other goals are financial and/or related to my health etc. How are you tracking so far?
